Stand Golf Club

History

Stand Golf Club was founded in 1904 and has been welcoming visitors and newcomers for over 110 years. We are located 6 miles north of Manchester and less than a mile from the M60/M62. The Whitefield Metrolink stop (Manchester-Bury line) is within easy walking distance, less than half a mile from the clubhouse.

Our course is reputed to be one of the finest in the area. The good drainage offered by the sand sub-soil means that the course is playable all year round. When other courses are forced to close for inclement weather, Stand usually remains open. The 6318 yards (Par 72, SSS 71) is a fine test of golf for all standards of player. We have good practice facilities, two nets, chipping green and putting green near the first tee.

The men’s and ladies’ sections hold various competitions throughout the season, and there are regular roll-ups for club members. Stand Golf Club members may compete in various association competitions and matches, both individual and team events, including Lancashire County, Balfour & Houldsworth Golf Challenge Cups, Manchester & District Golf Alliance, North West Manchester Golf Association and East Lancashire Ladies Golf Association.
